Privacy Policy
Mantel is a private photo album for invited family members only. This page describes the data the app touches and what happens to it. The short version: we collect the bare minimum required to sign you in, we never sell or share your data, and there are no advertisements or analytics in the app.
What we collect
- Your email address, which you enter to sign in. It is stored by Amazon Cognito (AWS, ap-south-1 region) along with a salted hash of your password. We never see your password in plain text.
- Authentication tokens issued by Cognito after you sign in. These are stored only on your device, in the iOS Keychain or Android EncryptedSharedPreferences, and used to keep you signed in.
What we do not collect
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting from your device.
- No advertising identifiers, location, contacts, or device IDs used for tracking.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
How photos are served
Album photos are stored in a private Amazon S3 bucket and delivered through Amazon CloudFront over HTTPS. The app caches thumbnails on your device for speed (up to ~500 MB); you can clear the cache by removing and reinstalling the app. Your favorite photos are tracked locally on each device only — they are not uploaded anywhere.
Third parties
The only third party involved is Amazon Web Services, which hosts the Cognito user pool and the CloudFront distribution. AWS's data handling is governed by the AWS Privacy Notice.
Children
Mantel is intended for adult family members. The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Deleting your account
Email info@zynclave.com from the address associated with your account and we will delete your Cognito record within a week. Local data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the app.
Changes
If we update this policy in any material way, we will change the effective date above and notify family members directly.
